Pathetic Life of Mine

My sweet niece, Jessica, stopped by my house one afternoon. It was so good to see her and have some adult conversation! She and I have always had a special bond and relationship. I feel like her older sister. When she was growing up we would watch the Bask Street Boys concert on VHS and talk about which one we thought was cute and then we would always make fun of Howie D.! We just have always had a great time together!

---
Anyway, she came over. We sat and talked for an hour and then she mentioned she had to go to Krispie Kreme to get donuts for her family. I said, "Oh - I have a coupon for Krispie Kremes!" So I go and get my binder that is full of coupons. I have recently started keeping all the coupon books (and asking in laws and my parents for theirs) so that I can get stuff for free / really cheap. It is really addicting and fun. So I have tons of coupon inserts and I don't know which one the coupon for the donuts is in. So I start looking through them and I give a stack to Jess for her to start looking through. She found the coupons a few minutes later. She asked why I had so many coupon books. I excitedly told her how I use coupons and sales to get stuff for cheap. And then I told her that I can sometimes double up on coupons to get it even cheaper! And for an example I said that Dick's was having toothpaste on sale for $1. So I found a toothpaste coupon for 75 Cents off. So I got toothpaste for 25 cents!! Then I told her I wished I had more of that coupon so I could stock up on cheap toothpaste!

 ---

After my shpill I paused to take a breath since I was talking fast since I am really excited about it. I looked at her and her face said it all. She was like staring at me in disbelief. Then I broke down and we both started laughing. And I cried, "I am so pathetic! What have I become?!" We laughed so hard at my pathetic self that I started to cry! I cried for two reasons: one was that it was way funny and two was because I have nothing exciting in my life going right now that COUPONS have become my excitement! I mean, I enjoy saving money and all but looking at me from a teenagers perspective, it IS pretty sad that this is my new hobby! I'm a mom...I'm almost 30...I have no life!!!

Valentines?......I think NOT!

I LOVE Valentines Day. I love the pink and red hearts. I love the school parties. Remember when you got to make your own Valentine box to take to school? I loved that! Well, Valentines Day is not too happy for me anymore. I get upset and am moody on that day, ever since I got married.
---
My husband does not like to celebrate Valentines Day or any thing else for that matter. So I just tell myself not to expect anything. But I'm still bummed. So I have to do things myself to celebrate it. This year I went out and bought myself some big fat eclairs from Parson's bakery. Yum! Then I got a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's since I knew we weren't going out. I went to Shawn's class party and did a craft.
---
Dinner I got the floating candles out and sparkling cider. It was so romantic despite the fact that we were eating pizza on paper plates!
---
I put the kids to bed while Ty was away at his 2 basketball games he played in. Then the highlight of my night... The Bachelor! I watched The Bachelor while I ate an eclair. It was great.
 ---
So if your husband does all the romantic stuff like bring you roses, box of chocolates, balloons, takes you out to dinner, then please don't tell me about it. It just makes me more depressed.
But good for you, you're lucky.

The next disappointing day is in a couple of weeks....my birthday.

Cruise#6: Miami and Orlando

We got off the boat and rented a car for a couple days. We drove to South Beach in Miami. So beautiful! We walked a long ways along the beach. We saw many dental floss swimsuits. Everyone had perfect bodies and tans. It made me feel very ugly! We even saw some topless people. Wahoo!
We ate at an outdoor cafe. The lemonade was awesome! There was some art festival going on so they closed down that street so it was fun to people watch! A lot of people had dogs. A lot of people were kinda wacky!
We were walking back to our car and Ty saw this car and told me to go stand in front. We asked the owner if we could get a pic and he was all, "Sure, you can go ahead and sit in it to." And he unlocks the car! He was so cool. We talked to him for a bit. He was so nice and said he skies in Utah all the time and that the people of Utah are always so nice!
The owner of the car owns a jet company. He sells private jets.
Here's another great car.
We drove up to Orlando. We got there around 5pm. Since we stayed at a Disney resort, we had extra hours that night at the Magic Kingdom. So we decided to go! We stayed there until 2am! It was so much fun! It's a good thing we went that night because the next day, the day we had planned to go, was horrible rain! It was crazy! So we just stayed in our hotel room and slept! Seriously, all day! We had our own separate beds, it was great!
At night, the rain stopped and we went to Downtown Disney. It was fun walking around and looking at all the fun stores.
We ate at T-Rex. So fun! There are dinosaurs everywhere!

We had to get dessert! I mean, come on! It has smoke!!!

Pick a winner!

This is for all you lefties out there!

Oh my heck! These chocolate croissants are so so good! We got them at the Resort. AHHH! I ate, like, 5 of them. This is me at the airport. I brought them through security and everything! The security guys were all, "Oh...we're going to have to confiscate those!" It was so funny! I ate em both once we were in the air!

Cruise#5: On the Ship

Am I mean???
It's just for fun and it was a perfect opportunity.
Yummy breakfast.

On formal night, Ty ate 4 lobster tails and prime rib.
Oink, Oink!
I love my towels!

See, even the turtle is in on the joke!

I tried out to be Britney Spears during karaoke for their "Carnival Legends" show.
I made it. So the ship delivered an MP3 player with my song on it so I could practice and gave me the words and info on the rehearsal and performance. I was so excited!
This is how we walked to the hot tubs. People gave us weird looks.
Beautiful sunset on the last night.
So flippin' hot!
It was so windy up top! We were right next to a restaurants windows where people were eating and we were pretending the wind was carrying us away! We were laughing so hard!
Hold on Ty! I don't want to lose you!

Sitting in the theatre. See the guy in back smiling? Yeah, he was a bit on the "rainbow" side if you know what I mean. He got up during karaoke and sang a song with his little martini glass dangling from his hand.

I am mean, aren't I?
This is the martini guy getting a gold, plastic piece of ship. (that was a running gag on board). It was a plastic ship that people won. Ty won one! He did synchronized swimming earlier that day and stripped down to his speedo!
This guy worked for the ship and he was all greasy and gross.
This is after my performance. We got a group shot of all the other "Legends" like Madonna, Elives, etc. and also the Valor dancers and singers.
There is am with Elton John in the back.
THe performance went great except my wig fell off after the first verse!
I was so upset! Oh well.
We got a free drink from the bar for performing. We split a virgin pina colada.
Back in Miami!
This is where I danced every night. It's right up next to a big window you could look in. I would shake my booty at passer bys and see how they reacted. The whole club loved it! Most of the time I was the only one on the dance floor! People took pictures of me and cheered me on and laughed and had a good time!
Shake it!

Cruise#4: Isla Roatan, Hondouros

Welcome to the enchanted Isla Roatan, Hondoras!
Roatan for short.
It is a small tropical island about 30 miles off the Honduras mainland.
It was a beautiful, warm, cloudy day.
There were some shops right off the ship which we walked through.
Honduras is known for it's beautiful mahogany wood and carvings. We got Ty's parents a pretty mahogany box as a thank you for watching our kids. Our tour guide was a cool kid. He was 20 years old and had never been to the mainland! Crazy! He was wearing a sweater because it was   only 78*. That is "like freezing" for the locals! We would definatly love to go back to Roatan!

This guy is awesome! I saw him around the ship and he wore his pants just as high.

We took an excursion through Carnival (which I would not recommend!). We got on a bus and drove for about 30 mins. to get to the place where we ziplined again. This place had a lot more ziplines and was faster and funner then the Belize one. After the zipline, which ended right on a beach, we walked through their nature preserve called Zumbalimba Park. It was gorgeous! It is the most beautiful place I've been. Even better then England and Paris! There were so many interesting trees and plants. Our guide showed us around and told us about stuff.

There was a hummingbird feeding area where there were about 10 hummingbirds!
Pretty little stream.

We went into a "cave" where our tour guide told us a little about the history of the island. Really interesting.
But Ty was more interested in looking at the pictures!
There was this guy who everyone made fun of because he lost his foot and a hand. So he became a pirate and stole from those people and stuff.
Jungle bridge like on Indiana Jones!

I LOVE MONKEYS!!!

So stinkin' cute!!!

Pretty tree.
My favorite plant: The Ti plant!!! ha ha! No but really, I saw this plant around the whole park and it was so pretty. It had bright pink flowers. It was my fav. Only before we left did we find out that it's name is Ti! Coincidence? ....I think NOT!
Iguana. The locals go on iguana hunts every May. They say it tastes just like an iguana!

This tree is "married". It's 2 trees that grew into each other as 1.
Monkey Boy!

This guy is sitting on a sign that says "Please Do Not Sit or Stand"!
