Shawn's Birthday

A week ago, Shawn turned 7 years old. Oh, he's getting big and I'm getting old! Recently, I've become so sentimental and I remember back often of when he was a baby and a cute little toddler and now a big kid. I miss those sweet days. Anyway, he got some clothes...and the Bakugan arena that he has wanted for months, he was very excited...
and a new bike. We did take this one back though because it was a little to big. We had to search for the "perfect one". It had to have the brakes on the handles and pegs. We found one that was even cheaper then this one so, Score!
He had told me about a week before his bday that he wanted a Karate cake. I was like, Okay, how do we do that? I searched online and found one! I copied it except I used oreos for the black belt instead of frosting. It;s not the best looking cake and some of the sides don't have frosting on them but he loved it and that's all that matters.
FOr dinner he wanted to go to McDonalds. But we had another plan. We past McD's and he started freaking out. Then we suggested we go to Burger King. SO he agreed and we kept driving. Then we pulled into Chuck E. Cheese. He was so excited! He and Kyle have been wanting to go for a long time. They always say, "Hey, there's Chuck E Cheese. Where a kid can be a kid!" So we had a great time with the Luker clan there. There was a green screen there that you go and stand in front and it shows you on the tv's al arounf the place. I had fun with that.
Here's Shawn about to blow the candles out. He had a great day.
I get all stressed out around birthdays. As a parent, you don't want your child to have a bad one. It's the one day they look forward to and they expect alot. I'm glad it's over and he liked it.

The Sickness is Back...

I'm back.... are ya happy now, Steve??!!
Right after my last post, I got sick again. I had a sore throat, cough, plugged nose, etc. Then Nick got sick. I had a feeling he needed to go to the doctor. His fever was 103* and I just knew he had an ear infection. Another one. So I took him in and sure enough he did. His 2nd in a month. This conecerns us because he had tubes put in his ears over a year ago and if he gets another infection he will probably have to get them again. So he's on stronger antibiotics to get rid of it. (which just reminded me that I forgot to give it to him tonight, oops!) Anyway, then Shawn got a high fever and the day before his bday (the 21st) he was throwing up. It was so sad because he would say in this little sick voice "Mom? I hope I'm not sick for my birthday. That would be so bad." Oh it broke my heart. It was do hard to take care of him because I was really sick and out of energy and Nick was cranky and I was just running around taking care of everyone. But luckily, Shawn was better after some rest and a bath. He was playing around by the end of the day. SO he was healthy for his bday. I will post about that later. Ty is now sick. Have you ever seen the "Man Cold" youtube video. You should because it is so right on. He tells me I have no idea what he is going through when it is the exact thing I had! Poor thing. Kyle and Cody have escaped the illnesses (for now). Cody does have a runny nose but I think it is from teething.
Ty and I were invited to go to a Jazz play off game against the Lakers last night. We couldn't believe how many LA fans there were. One drunk girl was sitting a few rows in front of us wearing a Fisher jersey. She would stay standing up for extended periods of time holding her beer. She was blocking everyone's view. One guy asked her to sit down and she turned around and goes, "Am I in your way? No really, am I in your way?" ANd she still kept standing. Ty decided that he would yell "Fisher sucks" until she sat down. He yelled it once and she turned around and was looking for who yelled it with this big ol' crusty on her face. Ty pretended he didn't yell it and just watched the game. We laughed so hard after she turned back around. The Jazz lost. But we still had fun. My lovely niece Jessica watched our boys.
Today has been hard witht the boys. They were just not behaving. But Ty made some bacon and french toast for our dinner. What a sweetie!
ummmm... I don't think there is anything else to write about. I'll post more soon.... I promise, Steve.

FYI

I probably won't be posting for a bit. I have just been too stressed out and busy! With Easter, birthdays, Spring cleaning, a crazy 2 year old who is driving me crazy, a baby who wakes in the night, etc, etc, etc. So I'm sorry to those of you who live for this blog, but I need to put this on the back burner. Sorry!

Update

Ty is in Moab this weekend for Jeep Safari. He left yesturday and comes home tomorrow. He has always wanted tog go back to Jeep Safari. The last time he went was in 2002 when he rolled is Jeep. I remember that well. I was 9 months pregnant with Shawn and we lived with my parents. Ty went to Jeep Safari and would call me every night. He told me one night that he had tipped the top right corner of the jeep into a rock wall and it was a little damaged. When he came home, he said hi and then took my car to go to his parents. I didn't even bother to look at the jeep. Then my dad knocks on the door. He says, "Uh, have you seen the jeep?" I go, "No." ANd he goes, "Well, it looks like it rolled or something." I go , " Oh yeah, he told me it got a little damaged." And my dad goes, "No, you need to go look at it. It looks more then just a little damaged!" SO I go outside and the whole thing is just smooshed. Right at that moment, Ty pulled up. I was like "What the heck happened? Why didn't you tell me!" Anyway, it's a funny story....NOW! At the time not so much. He doesn't have a jeep this year so I know there's no chance of that happening again! So I'm a lone with the kids. We've gone shopping and to some parks. Ty left me a little package to open to keep me happy. It had Wicked tickets in it! Yeah! We're going in May and I'm so so so excited!
