Temple Openhouse

We took the oldest two boys to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple openhouse last week. All day long they were both protesting about going. "It's going to be boring.." blah, blah, blah. I sat down with them and had a discussion about what goes on in the Temple and how beautiful of place it is and how we feel Heavenly Father there. We got there and watched a video about Temples and then we went in. The boys fav. part was the baptismal font. They liked the ox. I liked it because there were pictures of Jesus getting baptized all around it and it reminded you of the significance of what goes on there. I loved pointing out all the beautiful little details there were. Like the stars on the windows and the pretty chandiliers. We went in a sealing room and sat down and listened to a couple talk. And after is what the boys really liked....COOKIES! The choc. chip ones are the best, fyi. Then we went to Baskins for ice cream. It was a great experience.
---
A few days after we went to my cousins wedding reception and they asked if we were going to the Temple to see them get married. I explained they already got married in the Temple that morning and we were just going for a celebration. Then Shawn asks, "Well, we got sealed, didn't we?" And Kyle goes, "Well Shawn, we went into a sealing room, duh. Of course we're sealed." Ty and I smiled. I explained there has to be a special ceremony that takes place to seal families and we haven't had that yet. I don't know if they understand all of that or not. It's hard to know what to say when the boys ask questions like that. I wish I could give a different answer. Oh well, maybe someday we all will be back in that sealing room. Maybe.

Sweet Hubby Alert!

I reminded Ty on the 8th that the next day (June 9th) was our ten year anniversary of becoming a couple. Ususally in the past he doesn't make a big deal out of it since it's not our "real" anniversary (wedding anniversary). So this year I just didn't even think much of it. That night we went to Ty's parents to celebrate Cody's bday. We drove seperate cars and I got home before he did. When he came through the door he had a bouquet of flowers! I was shocked. I was like "What are these for?" and he goes, "It's our anniversary!" I go, "Oh yeah!". He used to bring me flowers all the time when we were dating and first married, but not anymore so I was really surprised. And the bouquet had SUNFLOWERS in it too! My fav! Thanks, hun, You really DO care!!

Big Brother helps out

I was trying to feed Cody lunch but he kept spitting it out. So I put the food down and gave Cody a break. I was getting the other boys lunch and looked over and Nick had taken over the feeding duty! It was adorable. He even wiped his face!

My Babay's One!

Cody turned one on June 8th. That is so crazazy! This has been a tuff year to get through but he is such a little joy to have army crawling all over the place! We are so happy is part of our family.Yay, I'm a BIG boy!
opening presents.
We had my family over for pizza and cake. It was a good time. They all just adore Cody and love to hold him and make him laugh.
Cute "Surfer" cake. No, I didn't make it. I just wasn't in the mood/didn't have time to make one.
He really loved the cake!

Never Get a Glass Table

About a week and a half ago, we were all sitting in our family room watching "Enchanted" when we heard a loud bang outside. I looked and didn't really see anything, it was just really windy and stormy. So we continued watching and Nick looked out the window. He started freaking out and pointing saying "Uh-oh." So I looked out again and freaked out too: our glass patio table had been broken! The umbrella in the middle of it had tipped over in all the wind and shattered the table. We stopped the movie and cleaned up with a shop vac. It took about an hour to make sure we got all the little bits.

It's only been 1 WEEK?!

Hey everyone. So, it's the end of the first week of summer vacation. Ah. I am going nuts. The boys keep saying how bored they are and then they keep asking for snacks and then they ask if they can go to their friends house and then they ask if they can play computer games and then they ask for another snack.... AH, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!! I mean , really! Life was so much simpler when they were little and were just happy to be with me. Now I actually have to find a way to entertain them.
And what do I do if my antidepressant medication isn't working? I am going crazy! Ah.
BTW, Cody turned 1 last Monday. Crazy (like me) huh?! He weighs 17 lbs 12 oz so that puts him in the 1%. He has just barely learned to crawl. He has army crawled for several months but he is starting to do the real crawl. Yay.
Nick is crazy too. He likes to attack me with hugs and kisses. He also likes to climb on barstools, chairs, toy trucks, push toys, basically anything he can climb on to get to something he's not suppose to. No wonder no one ever baby sits for us.
Kyle is cute. He is getting whiny though. I think maybe because he stays up later then usual and he's around Shawn more.
Shawn is a big helper. He vacuumed his room yesturday. He usually does what ever I ask him too. He's sweet. But he also bugs Kyle and then fights, etc. Just get along!
Ty is busy with work and watching Break videos. He is also very busy boating at any chance he gets.
I trained Molly (our dog) how to go in her kennel. I say "kennel" and she goes in it. She's getting better. She still has a lot of energy.
I am not doing so good as you read before. I'm trying to get use to having all 4 boys around me 24/7. Sometimes I feel like there is no escape for me. We never get sitters and never go out. I need to get out! Argh. We're going to the Oqurrh Mntn. Temple open house this next week so I am looking forward to that. Thanks Mom for being willing to watch the 2 babies. I was thinking of the church song "Where can I turn for peace?" because really, where can I? I'm tired. I know I need to sleep but there is so much to do.
Anywho, there's an up to date run down of our home. I'll post pics someday. Maybe. We'll see.
PS Ty was a super sweetie and went out in the cold harsh world to get me an oreo concrete and fries. I needed it. Thanks babe. You really do care!

Beautiful Bride!

My friend, Mary Ann Angell, got married last Saturday. She has been my friend since we were in Nursery at church! We grew up together. We have lost touch the past couple of years so I was happy she invited me to see her march down the aisle. It meant a lot to me.

Preschool Grad.

Kyle graduated preschool on May 29th. He had so much fun this year and has grown up! He sang songs and read a book. We had a picnic and broke a pinata. It was fun. He sat like this almost the whole prgram. He would do actions to the songs and then right after he would go back to this position!
Kyle with his best friend Brintin and Sam, his "enemy". Sam got that nickname because he was sometimes mean to Kyle. But everytime I saw them together they got along great. (Sorry if you know Sam. I do not necessarily carry those same hard feelings. I just thought it was cute whenever he talked about him he called him his enemy.)

So Long Old and Used Friend

Yay, Cody finally outgrew the carrier carseat. We have had this same carseat for all 4 of our boys; over 7 years. It is heavy and akward to carry. But I atleast got some arm muscles from lugging it around. So goodbye old friend. I remember how excited I got whenever I pulled you out of storage to put another baby in it. But I am happy to let you go and throw you away!!!
