The Sickness is Back...

I'm back.... are ya happy now, Steve??!!
Right after my last post, I got sick again. I had a sore throat, cough, plugged nose, etc. Then Nick got sick. I had a feeling he needed to go to the doctor. His fever was 103* and I just knew he had an ear infection. Another one. So I took him in and sure enough he did. His 2nd in a month. This conecerns us because he had tubes put in his ears over a year ago and if he gets another infection he will probably have to get them again. So he's on stronger antibiotics to get rid of it. (which just reminded me that I forgot to give it to him tonight, oops!) Anyway, then Shawn got a high fever and the day before his bday (the 21st) he was throwing up. It was so sad because he would say in this little sick voice "Mom? I hope I'm not sick for my birthday. That would be so bad." Oh it broke my heart. It was do hard to take care of him because I was really sick and out of energy and Nick was cranky and I was just running around taking care of everyone. But luckily, Shawn was better after some rest and a bath. He was playing around by the end of the day. SO he was healthy for his bday. I will post about that later. Ty is now sick. Have you ever seen the "Man Cold" youtube video. You should because it is so right on. He tells me I have no idea what he is going through when it is the exact thing I had! Poor thing. Kyle and Cody have escaped the illnesses (for now). Cody does have a runny nose but I think it is from teething.
Ty and I were invited to go to a Jazz play off game against the Lakers last night. We couldn't believe how many LA fans there were. One drunk girl was sitting a few rows in front of us wearing a Fisher jersey. She would stay standing up for extended periods of time holding her beer. She was blocking everyone's view. One guy asked her to sit down and she turned around and goes, "Am I in your way? No really, am I in your way?" ANd she still kept standing. Ty decided that he would yell "Fisher sucks" until she sat down. He yelled it once and she turned around and was looking for who yelled it with this big ol' crusty on her face. Ty pretended he didn't yell it and just watched the game. We laughed so hard after she turned back around. The Jazz lost. But we still had fun. My lovely niece Jessica watched our boys.
Today has been hard witht the boys. They were just not behaving. But Ty made some bacon and french toast for our dinner. What a sweetie!
ummmm... I don't think there is anything else to write about. I'll post more soon.... I promise, Steve.

You sound like us! We've all been sick too. I'm just getting over pneumonia (which is why I haven't called you yet), but I do still want to get together! I miss you Deb! And, I'm kind of excited to get Lindsy and Shawn back together. They used to play so cute together when they were babies... good times! (even though we did live in a hole in the wall. yuck!)

So I'm sitting here on my bed, it's 1:30 AM, just over a week since getting out of the hospital, and I'm trying to keep from falling asleep for fear that my swollen throat and sinuses will choke the life out of me were I to nod off...as has almost happened every night this week.

The sole activity for the night is, of course, trying to suck down enough acai berry jello and vanilla pudding to keep me alive this evening and to help achieve my goal of staying above 120 lbs this week.

As I open my mouth, ever so slightly, to let the Yo-Plus pro-biotic yogurt in, a steady stream of blood, pus, vomit and liquid hydrocodone bubble up from the septic pulsating hamburger that was once my upper respiratory system.

The Lortab's got me on a sickening and dizzy ride that only Turtle could appreciate on that one day when Mr. Blades dropped by to say hi.

'This night's gonna be hell,' I thought. I logged on to access and update my living will (no resuscitation, all assets to charity, John Stamos to attend my funeral)and to possibly get on twitter to tweet my last dying words ("I am dying, lmfao").

But then, as a last futile grasp at all that was ever meaningful in life, I checked your blog...

...and, not unlike Lazarus of old, who was miraculously brought back to life by our merciful, tight bell-bottomed, long-haired, hard-rockin' Jesus... I feel I've been given a second chance, another sharp stab at the entrails of life. Thank you for posting again... for each day I am alive, thanks to you, I feel I have a chance to make a difference...to be better...and as each blessed day passes, John Stamos gets less and less famous and his funeral appearance fee goes down.

So, thank you!!!

Cheers,

Steve
