McCall 2012

we took our annual trip to McCall with our friends the Pattersons in July.

They borrowed a friends boat and we had an awesome time!

We were boating to North Beach and found this huge log in the lake. It was dangerous to leave it there so we took some rope to it and Ty rode on it to shore.

It was hilarious.

Then we saw the Lake Patrol guys and they took it from there!

The fish hatchery was doing some kind of counting. It was crazy to see the system.

We ran out of gas the last day. That was fun.

Cody wanted to go talk to the lake cop and ask how fast his boat went so I told Kyle to take him. They were so timid walking up to him! But they got rewarded with free t-shirts! OhYeah!

Ty's parents rented a wave runner one day.

We are spoiled!

Ty and I took the bumpiest, coldest ride all around the lake. It was fun.

We try to hit up Charlie's Garden when we are up there. I guess it's tradition to the grandkids take a pic with Grndma and Grndpa in these chairs!

Summer Happening's

 Here is Cody modeling his beautiful, white trash tye-dye shirt he made at the family reunion.

 When Kyle wants something and he can't get it he makes it!

One day he wanted a crossbow so he looked at a pic online and made one out of paper. All by himself! I am so proud of his creativity (he gets it from me!).

 It could even shoot!

 One morning Shawn came upstairs and told me Kyle was crying in his room.

So I went down and asked him what was wrong.

He said that there was a baby bird trapped in his window well and he was sad that it was stuck.

Sure enough there was a little cute birdie!

 We got the bird out and Kyle caught it in a net. we tried to find its nest that it fell out of but we couldn't. All the boys, especially Kyle, were sad and worried about it.

 It was a fun little adventure!

Family Reunion at Bear Lake

 About 3 days after we got back from Punta Cana we headed up to Bear Lake for a Family Reunion.

I had never ever been to Bear Lake. Ever! It was so fun to discover this new place!

We stayed a a beautiful huge lodge with a beautiful view of the lake.

I couldn't believe how blue the water was!

 these boys were excited to sleep in the closet!

 The lake was really low so we were able to walk out quite a distance.

It was awesome!

 We had "Cousin Camp" where each family planned a game/activity for the kids.

We did Tye-dye shirts and it was awesome.

 Ty, of course, had to join in.

Disgusting

Twinkies are really gross. I just had one, my first in years. I almost didn't even finish it. It was so gross. I remember a spongy yellow soft cake filled with nummy whip cream but this was not that. Have my taste buds changed that much since I hit 30?? Or am I subconsciously thinking about all the additives and crap that is in a Twinkie thus ruining my enjoyment? Nick didn't finish his either, so maybe it's just plain gross.

Holy cow! I made it through Summer! It was tuff though. The School District decided to start school AFTER Labor Day this year so the boys had an extra 2 weeks off. It was those extra 2 weeks that nearly killed me. I was ready for them to go back and they were so bored that they were ready to go back also but probably didn't realize it. The first 2 months of Summer were great! We went on lots of trips (Dominican Republic, Bear Lake, McCall, Las, Vegas) and had swim lessons. It was August where everything stopped and we had nothing to look forward to. We saw Wicked at the end of August and I kept saying to myself, "If I can make it to Wicked, then I will be fine.". Well I did, and I am fine. A lot of crap happened right before Wicked which I am still trying to come to grips with.

I have learned that if I keep myself busy doing things that I like then it is not so bad. So I have started painting all the baseboards in the house. It makes a huge difference! You don't realize how dinged up they get and with a fresh crisp coat of white paint it makes everything brand new! I am also doing a lot of crafts and redecorating. I have figured out a monthly meal plan for dinners that actually works for me and I'm excited to do.

With Nick now in Kindergarten, it is just Cody and me. But he goes to preschool 3 times a week for 2 1/2 hours so that gives me such a nice break.

I will hopefully post more about our Summer doings.
