Cody is 3!

My cute baby boy turned 3 in June. He wanted a robot cake. I was so so proud of how it turned out! This is one of my favorites!

Cody loved opening his presents. Each one he unwrapped he said, "Oh my goodness!"

What I did on my Summer Vacation:

Here is a quick synopsis of what I did this Summer. I will do more posts about these things and go into greater detail...

I made tons and tons of freezer jam. When we were on our first trip to McCall this Summer, Ty's cousins wife, Kelli, brought some raspberry freezer jam for a dinner one night. We fell in love with it! So Ty insisted that I make our own. It was surprisingly easy! I was so proud! Ty's fav is strawberry and my fav is raspberry.
We took my niece, Jessica, up to McCall on our 2nd trip up there. She was so great to play with the kids and put up with all their whining and annoying music toys!
Ty bought a dirt bike in July. He just needed a "toy." The boys are all obsessed with motorcycles now. It's kinda annoying.
Summer is all about POPSICLES!!! We played outside a lot and our freezer was stocked with the icy cool treat.
Our 1st trip up to McCall we invited our friends, the Patterson's, to come up with us. They brought their boat and we had an awesome fun time cruising the lake.
The boys all painted and made a bird house. We hung it up but unfortunately no birdies ever lived in it.
2 of my gal pals from high school came to visit one day. Here are all of our kids.
No more cribs in this house. Cody helped me take his crib down and we gave it to one of our neighbors who is going to have a baby soon. I will admit, I cried a little bit. This crib held all of my babies.
July 4th. We went to several parades and saw fireworks up at Davis High.
The boys took swim lessons every week day of June. That meant we drove down to the Bountiful Rec Center everyday! IT got to be tedious. But the boys really improved on their water skills.
We sold the boat in early June. We didn't even go on it this year at all. Kinda sad.
We went to the Ogden Dinosaur Park. I have been want ting to go for a while. It was so much fun! Better then I expected!
Cody turned 3. He is so proud of his "Bee Bee Bop Bop" cake (robot cake!).

I will post in more detail about all these things in posts to come!!

It's Been A While...

It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, it's been really crazy around here with Summer and all. But now that school is back in session I may find time to blog once again. We did some trips this Summer so I will post about those soon. I am currently cleaning/reorganizing my house. The house just took a beating this summer. The boys made it a mess!!! I'm a mess too.

British Teeth and a Steel Beam

I went to the dentist today. It totally sucked! I was getting a crown put in on my back tooth. This back tooth of mine holds a special place in my heart...

You see, my mom is from England and I inherited her British teeth. So When I was little, I had so many cavities in this particular tooth that the dentist (who was my dads cousin btw) ended up putting a steel beam in it to support all the fillings. So if you looked at this tooth you would have seen a silver dot on the top. That was the steal beam. I always looked at it. I liked it. My dentist even told me when I was little that "one day" I would have to have a crown put on that tooth. I thought, "Yeah. When I'm old....like 30! That will never happen!" And low and behold...I'm 30 and I decided it was time to get a crown. I didn't want to be on vacation somewhere exotic, like Idaho, and have it break on me.

So anyway, back to today. It sucked. I got the shot and during it my body was clenched so bad. After the shot my legs were shaking so bad. I hated it. Then he started drilling and chiseling away my tooth...my beam. He got to a point where the drilling was KILLING me! I raised my hand, usually I am real quiet and just take it, but today I was going to take a stand. It hurt, gosh darn it! So I raised my hand and he stopped and you know what he gave me to make it feel better? Huh? Do you??? ANOTHER SHOT! Freak! It hurt! But after a while I was grateful that he gave it to me. I didn't feel the pain anymore. I just could taste the ucky stuff they were drilling out and my lips were being torn and my jaw was aching. The back of my head was numb from where I was laying on it. Oh, and then he gets done chiseling and says he found a cavity in the tooth right next to it "so I'm just gonna take care of that too." Ah! That's fine. Whatever. I'm numb and my mouth is so full of cotton and stuff that even if I wanted to say NO, I couldn't have. They worked on me for an hour and a half. My tongue was sucked up by that spit sucker thingy so many times. And sometimes in my head I would say,"I need to be sucked over here! My spit is pooling up! Hurry and get it!" And if she got it I would be happy for a bit

So I get my temporary crown on and go to pay for it. Yes, I paid to be put through crap and excruciating pain! A lot too! So I have to go back in 3 weeks and the lady was all, "Is this date ok?" and I go,"No, I'm out of town." Then she gets all mad at me saying, "Did the dentist know you were going out of town? We don't like to have temporary crowns go out of town in case they come off." I'm like, "How was I suppose to know??" (I didn't say that but thought it). So she gave me some cement to use if it does come off. And I go back in a couple of weeks to get my perm. crown on and to have 2 more cavities taken care of.

When I picked up my boys from Ty's work, I started warning each one, pleading with them, crying even, while clutching their shoulders "PLEASE, PLEASE take care of your teeth. I don't want you to go through the pain and anguish I am experiencing. I care too much about you. PLEASE brush and floss and brush again. Become anal and paranoid about your teeth. You do NOT want to go through this." They just look at me and are all,"Ooookayyy? Whatever, mom!" They enjoy the dentist. They don't know what the dentist is capable of doing to you. They just get their teeth cleaned and get a toy at the end. They don't know what lurks inside those drawers.

Thanks, Mom, I wouldn't have been in this position without you!

Nicks Bday

Nick turned 4 in March. Where does the time go?
We went to Chick E Cheese where Ty finally redeemed his tickets he's been holding on to for over 2 1/2 years! He got a four wheeler rc. Nick LOVES it. He wouldn't let it go on the car ride home and wouldn't stop playing with it when we got home. He wanted a fire truck cake again this year, I did my best which is not even good! Anyway, it was a great day.

Surprise! You need Surgery!!!

For the past 8 years, my right knee has locked up. I just stand up and it locks and won't straighten. So I am forced to hobble around for days until it straightens itself out. Well, it locked up on Monday again. So I went to an Orthopedic surgeon and he said lets get you into surgery tomorrow. I was all, "What?!". He said that it is probably part of my meniscus that gets in the way of straightening it, So I go in on Weds and get it done. He said that it wasn't my meniscus. I had an extra part in my knee! I'm deformed! SO he removed that and hopefully that will solve my problem. Ty went to Jeep Safari in Moab the next day. SO my niece has been staying here and dealing with the boys while I've been in bed. I am in a lot of pain. I am very fortunate to have neighbors and friends offer to bring in meals for us. I thank you with all my heart! Hopefully I will be up and around in a couple more days.
